Mandre, Silver City, New Mexico, April 24, 2009 We recently spent 5 nights at this incredible and unique lodging and fell in love with this amazing place and its people. We were upgraded to a two bedroom, but just paid for a T1. At 60€ per night, this was a great value. After traveling in the Azores now for over 2 weeks, I can verify that these are the softest and most comfortable beds this side of Boston! Although, still not great by US standards, better than most in the Islands. The cottage was very well equipped and we cooked most of our own meals. The owners and the staff are the very best. We had a rental car and explored just about every road on the island. Cuada is an old town that has been lovingly restored. There are pathways between the parking lot and the cottages that some people may find difficult if they have trouble walking. My husband is an amputee who walks with some difficulty but the wonderful staff carried all of our luggage for us. While my husband had a bit of trouble with the paths, this did not keep him from exploring this amazing little village. The owners allowed us to use their laundry service free of charge, something we really needed after being on the road for a couple of weeks. They also have free wifi in the reception area, something else we really appreciated. There is also an interesting T6 house that appears that it would accommodate a very large group. There are 14 cottages on the property, along with the owner’s cottage. |
