A magnificent private house located inside an agro-biological farm, and licensed by the local Tourism Authority. Actually, it is a real home away from home, where particular attention was paid to detail and comfort. Located on a hill, overlooking Ribeira Brava, Lugar de Baixo, Ponta do Sol and the widespread of the blue ocean, where sunsets are incomparable, is just in the middle of the sunny coast, which permits you being in mere 20 minutes whether you go to Funchal or to Calheta beach. Access to every other part of the Island is quick and easy due to the new tunnels. Although being situated in the countryside, it is close enough to modern amenities such as restaurants, pharmacies, shopping, bank and the all important beaches.
For those who like to do walks, the property is close to Levada do Norte, the waterway after Cabo Girão until Boa Morte, which is easy and safe. On this walk you will be able to admire cultivated farmlands.  From Cabo Girão until Quinta do Cabouco it takes about three hours walking.

The farm owners' house was built in the 18th century, restored and enlarged in 2003 with care to maintain its old look. Lovingly decorated its a feast to your eyes and comprises 3 bedrooms (1 suite, 2 double rooms with en suite bathrooms), all of them with a wonderful sea view. An extra bed in a bedroom can also be provided upon prior request (max. 2 extra beds, free of charge).  Baby cot is also available free of charge.  Further facilities on the property include a large and beautiful living-room with fireplace and satellite TV, another bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, which is annexed to another large common living area, sunny verandas and the most awesome sunset vantage point. Parking area is also available and a garden, where, guests are allowed to pick organic fruits and vegetables for their own consumption.

Guests are offered two types of accommodation: with or without breakfast.

Ribeira Brava (wild stream) is a small town on the southwest coast of the island. Now a lot easier to access since the construction of the two-lane motorway from Funchal. The town boasts many street cafés and shops and is certainly the place to spend a few hours taking in the sights and sounds.

The town has made enormous progress in the last few years and has geared itself up to tourism. Many new facilities keep the locals 'local' and the long sunshine hours on the west coast attract many bathing fans.

Ribeira Brava was one of the first parishes of the island and was inhabited early in the island’s history.

Writers think that its name came from the wild (Brava) river (Ribeira) that used to flow in this area and, when the rain falls heavily, occasionally it still does.

The council of Ribeira Brava includes the parishes of Ribeira Brava, Campanário, Tabua and Serra de Água.
