A lovely villa by the first and tenth tees on the Pestana Beloura Golf Course, between Cascais and Sintra, 8 km from the beach, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, dining room, equipped kitchen, terrace, gardens, private swimming pool, sleeps 9 persons, self catering.

The accommodation consists of 4 bedrooms (2 double rooms with en-suite facilities, 1 room with three single beds plus extra put u up; 1 room with two single beds plus small double futon) and a further large bathroom . There is a spacious lounge with cable TV and video recorder, a dining room with french windows onto the gardens and a fully equipped kitchen with washer/dryer, dishwasher and gas and electric hob. 2 of the upstairs bedrooms have balconies. There are gardens on two sides of the house, a large patio and an 8m x 4m swimming pool.
Travel cot can be used in any of the rooms.
Security deposit of EUR 350 per week payable two weeks prior to arrival and refundable 7 days after departure assuming no breakages or excessive cleaning or laundry required at end of stay.
Changeover day in high season: Saturday.
Sleeps 9 persons, self catering.
The 18 hole golf course at Pestana Beloura is set in a 60 hectare area with views over the Sintra Mountains. It was designed by Rocky Roquemore of the United States and opened in 1994. The course is flat , has large greens and generous fairways and so provides a pleasurable but not exhausting game. There are several lakes and streams and lots of trees which create an enchanting scenery and make the par 73 course challenging. It is certainly not the best course in the area but does provide easy access to the other famous Lisbon Coast golf courses including Penha Longa, Quinta da Marihna, Oitavos, Estoril, Belas and Lisbon Sports Club. The area was awarded the Established Golf Destination of the Year award 2003 by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators - the golf travel experts.
There is plenty for the non-golfer to do including the following places of interest:
Cascais: An old fishing village with wonderful cafes, restaurants and shops and a brand new marina;
Guincho Beach: famous for its wind-surfing and surfing and excellent seafood restaurants set high up on the cliffs;
Estoril: with its famous casino and the sheltered Tamariz Beach;
Sintra: an historic town renowned for its famous palaces including the Palacio Nacional de Sintra, the summer retreat for the Portuguese royal family and the kitsch Palacio da Pena built in the 19th Century for Queen Maria II; also try the wonderful beaches on the coast beyond Sintra including Praia da Adraga, voted by the Sunday Times as one of the best 20 beaches in Europe.
And Lisbon is only 20 minutes drive away and is one of the most fascinating capitals of Europe.

The villa was clean and well maintained with every facility required. The area of Cascais/Estoril/Sintra has areas of natural beauty and is popular with Lisbon residents for days and weekends out.There are a number of good golf courses in the area, we played Lisbon Sporting, Estoril and Aroeira which were all excellent and Belas and Quinta da Marinha which we did not enjoy as much. Work on a new motorway cuts through the estate but did not detract too much although it does affect two holes on the adjacent Beloura golf course. It was disappointing to note that this did not appear to affect the green fee!! There are some excellent local restaurants recommended in the owners literature although a car or taxi is required to visit them and the surrounding area. In summary, a most enjoyable trip and one that we would recommend unreservedly. |

The house is perfectly equipped with all neccessities, and the local contact person is an example of how customer service really is. This is not the last time we will visit this house, and we can highly recommend it. |
