Property is a luxury south-facing villa located on the western side of Funchal amphitheatre at approximately 300m altitude, about 4 kilometers from the city centre, commanding a breathtaking view of mountains and of Funchal to the harbour and ocean beyond. Located on a quiet and tranquil side street, approximately 300m from the main road, which provides nearby access to the main motorway network. A magnificent property completed in 2002 by a Portuguese and Dutch architect, it is beautifully furnished and totally equipped, surrounded by terraces, landscaped gardens and an outdoor heated jet-stream swimming pool with sunbathing area.
For your convenience an elevator is installed as well as a staircase to take you up from street level to the villa which is built on a hillside. The living area is well designed so that parties of up to 3 guests can be accommodated on the ground floor and parties of 3-7 guests can make use of the additional two bedrooms with balconies on the upper floor. Ideal for couples, singles, families and those with limited mobility.
Configuration for parties of up to 3 guests: 190 m2 living area and 750 m2 of garden and covered terraces outside.
At the street level:
- Street parking is, as well, always available.
- Entrance hall with sofa, desk, cupboard, row of pegs and chairs (suitable for easy transformation into a massage room if required).
- Guest WC.
- A fast elevator to the living area, suitable for 6 people.
- A wheel chair. (on request)
- An electric adjustable massage table. (on request)
Ground floor:
- Main entrance hall/dining room, fully furnished to include a piano, a dining table for 6-8 people and electric heater.
- Intercom and video system to the entrance door.
- Completely furnished living room with sofa, side tables, puff, armchairs, electric adjustable chair suitable for those with limited mobility, cupboard, electric heater, connection for cable TV, books, games and plenty of tourist information.
- Open plan dining/kitchen area within the living room with table for 2-6 people and fully equipped kitchen with electric hob and oven, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster, coffee machine, juicer machine, Vista Alegre crockery and cutlery for minimum 8 persons etc, fire blanket and fire extinguisher.
- Bedroom with 2 electrically adjustable beds 90x200 cm. suitable for use as one large double bed, duvets, wardrobes with mirrors, armchair, side table, electric heater and (cable) TV with Video and DVD player. Pure cotton linen and towels included.
- Bathroom with bath, separate shower, toilet, bidet, double sink, under floor heating and hairdryer. Shower gels, shampoo and hand gels are provided.
- TV room with broadband internet access, a plasma TV screen with full sound surround, DVD player and play station with 5 different DVD games, electric heater and a sofa transferable into a sleeping place for third person, linen included.
- On request, a baby cot with bedding, a chair and safety gate can be supplied at no extra charge. ***
- Private use of solar heated outside swimming pool (22 degrees minimum) with Jet Stream facility and automatic cover surrounded by a fence for the safety of guests and children.
- Changing room situated next to the pool with changing area, shower and toilet. Pool towels included. Washing machine, tumble dryer and drying rack.
- Covered area behind the Vila with table tennis table and entrance to indoor fitness/swimming pool and Churasco BBQ terrace .
- Private use of a small indoor fitness/swimming pool (about 27 degrees minimum) with Jet Stream facility, automatic cover and some fitness equipment such as an exercise bike and fitness machine for upper legs.
- Changing room situated next to the pool with changing area, shower and toilet.
- Large outside terraces, partly covered, with kitchen and Churrasco (BBQ area). Wood is provided.
- Private use of the garden with 3 outside tables on covered terraces, 6 teak sunbeds with mattresses and parasols.
Cleaning and making of beds is provided once weekly, which includes day of arrival. Additional service days may be pre-arranged at a cost of EUR 85, payable locally. Additional ad-hoc maid service may be pre-arranged at EUR 85 for half day (4 hours) and EUR 150 for full day (8 hours), payable locally.
Configuration for parties of 3 to 6 guests + 1 child until 12 years : 260 m2 living area and 750 m2 of garden and covered terraces outside.
Same configuration as for up to 3 guests, and in addition a second floor. From the main entrance hall stairs lead up to the second floor (56 m2 in area) where you will find:
- Landing on the second floor with 2 armchairs, 1 chair and table. Fire extinguisher.
- One bedroom with balcony and 2 beds (80x200 cm), wardrobes with mirrors, armchair, side table, (cable) TV with video player, air-conditioning.
- One bedroom with balcony and 2 beds (90x200 cm) wardrobes with mirrors, armchair, side table, connection for cable TV.
- A bathroom with bath, separate shower, toilet, bidet and double sink, under floor heating and hairdryer. Shower gels, shampoo and hand gels are provided.

Preferred changeover day is Monday, flexibility subject to availability.
Between October and May outside pool can be additionally heated up to 24ºC, at a weekly cost of EUR 75 (must be previously booked, payable locally).
*** Although the villa is not suitable for children under 12 years or children without a swimming license, clients can take a child with them. However if clients take a child with them it is of their own responsibility. Take notice of the fact that the fence in front of the villa is only 40 cm. high and the flowerbox hereunder is 40 cm deep, there is a 250cm deep pool surrounded by a fence, the electrical sockets are not protected with child locks and others. If you will take this responsibility there is a baby cot with linen and duvet, baby chair and a door fence available free of charge.
