Eine luxuriöse 3-Zimmerwohnung im Dorf von Calheta, mit schönen Gärten, Kinderspielplatz und Schwimmbad. Mit Klimatisierung und mit allen Möglichkeiten musste einen angenehmen Urlaub haben ausgestattet. Blick vom sandigen Strand und dem Jachthafen an Calheta und den schönen grünen Hügeln. Das Dorfeszentrum von Calheta, wo Sie Supermarkt, Restaurants, Bank, Geschäfte und andere Sehenswürdigkeiten finden werden, ist ca. 15 Geh- oder ca. 5 Autominuten entfernt. Es gibt Bäkerei-Café mit frischen Kuchen und Brot nur ein paar Minuten zum Fuß von der Wohnung. Ca. 15 Gehminuten zum schönen goldenen sandigen Strand von Calheta mit Strandpromenaden, Jachthafen, einer großen Wahl von Restaurants mit Meerblick, Museen usw. Der Flughafen ist ungefähr 45 und Funchal ca. 30 Autominuten entfernt.

Im Erdgeschoss am Straßenniveau gelegen, besteht das Wohnung aus 1 Doppelzimmer mit eigenem Bad/WC mit Whirpoolwanne, 1 Zweibettzimmer, 1 Dusche/WC, Wohnzimmer mit Ledersofas, Kabel-TV und DVD-Spieler, Essbereich mit Sitzgelegenheit für 6 Personen, große voll ausgestattete Küche mit Frühstückstresen und einen großen Balkon mit Zugang zum Hauptschlafzimmer und Wohnzimmer, mit Stühlen und Tisch eingerichtete, um ein sönnige Frühstück oder ein romantisches Abendessen am Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Wohnung teilt umgebenden Gartenanlage, Kinderspielplatz und Außenschwimmbad.

Calheta liegt and der Südwestküste Madeiras und hat den einzigen bedeutenden goldenen Sandstrand der Insel zu bieten. Allerdings ist der Calheta Strand kein natürlicher Sandstrand, da der Sand aus Marokko eingeführt wird. Die Stadt bietet außerdem noch eine Marina sowie ein Vielzahl an Wassersportmöglichkeiten.

Restaurants in Calheta
Es gibt eine Anzahl sehr guter Fischrestaurants, einige davon servieren Meeresfrüchte Cataplanas - ein traditionelles portugiesisches Rezept, das nach dem Gefäß, einem großen Kupfertopf, benannt ist, in dem es gekocht wird.

Die süße Geschichte von Calheta
Einst war die Zuckerindustrie sehr lukrativ für Madeira und Calheta ist das Zuhause einer der beiden Zuckerraffinerien der Insel, die noch im Betrieb sind. Es werden Ausflüge angeboten, wo man unter anderem den Aguardente und die Melasse, die dort produziert werden, probieren kann.

Kunstzentrum Casa das Mudas
Calheta ist das Zuhause des Kunstzentrums Casa das Mudas, welches Madeiras größtes Kulturzentrum und das drittgrößte Portugals ist. Das Zentrum wurde im Jahre 2004 eröffnet und es sind Werke von Dali und Sir Francis Bacon zu sehen. Außerdem finden regelmäßig Theater-, Tanz- und Kulturveranstaltungen im Auditorium, wo bis zu 200 Leute Platz haben, statt.

Corall from Lenzie, Glasgow Review Submitted: November 30, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009 A little corner of Paradise..... We spent a wonderful week at Calheta Plaza in November 2009, and as the previous reviewer commented, it was the most stylish and comfortable holiday accommodation we have ever had. The large, airy flat was luxuriously appointed and spotlessly clean, and the view from the balcony breathtaking and fascinating. The situation half-way up a steep mountainside is somewhat challenging, especially since one of the tunnels between Funchal and Calheta was closed at the time of our visit, entailing a diversion over a rather hair-raising mountain pass. This made us feel a little cut-off as my husband was not inclined to make this journey by car too often, but once we were established in our retreat halfway between the hillside village of Estrela and the beach and marina at Calheta, we had no great desire to travel further afield. The baker's shop just across the road was wonderful for fresh, fragrant rolls for breakfast, and the occasional pastry treat ! The restaurant half-way down the hill, whose name escapes me,, had a really charming atmosphere, and there was also a selection of cafe-type restaurants at the marina.with some musical entertainment in the evenings.Pingo Doce supermarket at Calheta was well-stocked and priced and you could park free there for an hour if you asked for a ticket at check-out Parking at the beach was metered in the day-time, though. Our weather was somewhat mixed, as we had to expect in November, so we sat on the beach only once and did not use the pool at all, except to catch the last rays of the sun when it had left the balcony on the nicer late afternoons. Minor improvements we might suggest that could have made the apartment even more fabulous: a coffee-maker, an oven glove, some shelving in the bathroooms, particularly inside the shower. Also, while we realise that low lighting is ecologically desirable we found the living room lights a little dim for reading, and would have appreciated a standard or table lamp close to the sofas ! And there were only two rather rickety loungers by the pool. ! But these are all trifling matters compared to the enormous pleasure we derived from our week at Calheta Plaza.. We would certainly recommend the accommodation to friends and hope to return some day. Many thanks, Victoria. There is now a coffee maker and oven gloves have been provided. There is also now additonal shelving in the shower room and a reading light has been added to the living room. The loungers will hopefully be replaced before the summer, if not we will arrange for these to be available in the apartment for guests to use. It is a shame that the road was closed. It looks like this was to carry out works to create a new tunnel which will ultimately make the journey to the west of the island quicker. I am sorry that this caused some inconvenience. The road is now open again.
Calheta converts from London Review Submitted: October 27, 2010 Date of Stay: October 2010 Stunning apartment by the sea I agree with the previous guests that this is the nicest apartment we have ever stayed in. Everything was clean upon our arrival. We arrived in the dark and were stunned to see the spectacular sea view when we woke the following morning. It was so difficult to leave. At breakfast time each morning (which we ate on the balcony) we were treated to a flying display from the mountain swifts and the odd bird of prey. They were so close it felt that you could almost touch them. We had a fantastic holiday in this well appointed apartment. The owner has provided a comfortable environment with every thing required for a relaxing holiday. For those who like cooking the kitchen contained everything you need to cook fabulous meals. Usually when we go on holiday we end up packing sharp knives, bottle openers and other items vital for cooking. Victoria has thought of everything. Even a knife sharpener was supplied. Not keen on cooking! no problem. The local restaurants were very welcoming. We especially enjoyed the restaurants down at the marina which produced good quality food at an excellent price. The swimming pool provided relief after a day’s site seeing and walking. Even though this is a shared facility I think we were the only people using at the time. I would certainly recommend this apartment. I intend to stay again when I next visit Madeira Recommended for: Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
