Un appartement luxueux de 3 pièces dans le village de Calheta, avec des beaux jardins, aire de jeux pour enfants et une piscine. Équipé avec climatisation et tout le confort pour un séjour agréable. Vue de la plage de sable fin et de la marina de Calheta, aussi bien que des belles collines vertes. Le centre du village de Calheta, où vous trouverez des supermarchés, restaurants, banques, magasins et autres attractions, est environ à 15 minutes à pied, soit environ 5 minutes en voiture. Il y a une boulangerie-café avec des pâtisseries et du pain frais à seulement quelques minutes à pied de l'appartement. 1 km de la magnifique plage de sable doré de Calheta, avec promenade, marine, un large choix de restaurants avec vue sur l'océan, musée, etc. L'aéroport est à 45 et Funchal à 30 minutes en voiture.

Situé dans le rez-de-chaussée au niveau de la rue, l’appartement comprend 1 chambre avec lit double et salle de bain en suite avec jacuzzi, 1 chambre à deuz lits simples, 1 pièce de douche, séjour avec canapés en cuir, TV câblée et lecteur DVD, salle à manger et des chaises pour 6 personnes, grande cuisine entièrement équipée avec bar pour le petit-déjeuner et grand balcon avec accès à la chambre principale et au séjour, meublé avec table et chaises pour déguster un petit déjeuner le matin ou un dîner romantique au coucher du soleil. L’immeuble est entouré par des jardins, aire de jeux pour enfants et une piscine extérieure. Lit de bébé et chaise haute disponibles (gratuit, demander avec réservation).

Située sur le côté sud-ouest de l’île, la ville de Calheta est certainement le meilleur endroit de l’île pour les estivants. Seule et unique station balnéaire de Madère, Calheta est -évidemment- de plus en plus prisée.

Entre paradis pour touristes...
Sur le front de mer, a été installé plusieurs tonnes de sable blanc importé du Maroc, afin de rendre le littoral de l’île un peu plus attractif (Madère ne possédant que des plages de galets ou de sable noir !) et sur cette marina artificielle, on trouve désormais un grand complexe hôtelier 4*, le Calheta Beach.

En visant un important tourisme estival, la ville n’a pas hésité à réaliser quelques aménagements pour satisfaire le plus grand nombre : centre commercial Pingo Doce et nombreux bars et restaurants un peu partout.

...et adresses typiques
Mais rassurez-vous, dans les hauteurs subsistent encore quelques adresses d’artisanat et nourriture typiques. Calheta est donc idéale pour ceux qui recherchent le confort et tout l’aspect pratique d’une station balnéaire lambda, peut-être moins pour ceux qui cherchent l’authenticité et la vraie nature de l’île.

Corall from Lenzie, Glasgow Review Submitted: November 30, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009 A little corner of Paradise..... We spent a wonderful week at Calheta Plaza in November 2009, and as the previous reviewer commented, it was the most stylish and comfortable holiday accommodation we have ever had. The large, airy flat was luxuriously appointed and spotlessly clean, and the view from the balcony breathtaking and fascinating. The situation half-way up a steep mountainside is somewhat challenging, especially since one of the tunnels between Funchal and Calheta was closed at the time of our visit, entailing a diversion over a rather hair-raising mountain pass. This made us feel a little cut-off as my husband was not inclined to make this journey by car too often, but once we were established in our retreat halfway between the hillside village of Estrela and the beach and marina at Calheta, we had no great desire to travel further afield. The baker's shop just across the road was wonderful for fresh, fragrant rolls for breakfast, and the occasional pastry treat ! The restaurant half-way down the hill, whose name escapes me,, had a really charming atmosphere, and there was also a selection of cafe-type restaurants at the marina.with some musical entertainment in the evenings.Pingo Doce supermarket at Calheta was well-stocked and priced and you could park free there for an hour if you asked for a ticket at check-out Parking at the beach was metered in the day-time, though. Our weather was somewhat mixed, as we had to expect in November, so we sat on the beach only once and did not use the pool at all, except to catch the last rays of the sun when it had left the balcony on the nicer late afternoons. Minor improvements we might suggest that could have made the apartment even more fabulous: a coffee-maker, an oven glove, some shelving in the bathroooms, particularly inside the shower. Also, while we realise that low lighting is ecologically desirable we found the living room lights a little dim for reading, and would have appreciated a standard or table lamp close to the sofas ! And there were only two rather rickety loungers by the pool. ! But these are all trifling matters compared to the enormous pleasure we derived from our week at Calheta Plaza.. We would certainly recommend the accommodation to friends and hope to return some day. Many thanks, Victoria. There is now a coffee maker and oven gloves have been provided. There is also now additonal shelving in the shower room and a reading light has been added to the living room. The loungers will hopefully be replaced before the summer, if not we will arrange for these to be available in the apartment for guests to use. It is a shame that the road was closed. It looks like this was to carry out works to create a new tunnel which will ultimately make the journey to the west of the island quicker. I am sorry that this caused some inconvenience. The road is now open again.
Calheta converts from London Review Submitted: October 27, 2010 Date of Stay: October 2010 Stunning apartment by the sea I agree with the previous guests that this is the nicest apartment we have ever stayed in. Everything was clean upon our arrival. We arrived in the dark and were stunned to see the spectacular sea view when we woke the following morning. It was so difficult to leave. At breakfast time each morning (which we ate on the balcony) we were treated to a flying display from the mountain swifts and the odd bird of prey. They were so close it felt that you could almost touch them. We had a fantastic holiday in this well appointed apartment. The owner has provided a comfortable environment with every thing required for a relaxing holiday. For those who like cooking the kitchen contained everything you need to cook fabulous meals. Usually when we go on holiday we end up packing sharp knives, bottle openers and other items vital for cooking. Victoria has thought of everything. Even a knife sharpener was supplied. Not keen on cooking! no problem. The local restaurants were very welcoming. We especially enjoyed the restaurants down at the marina which produced good quality food at an excellent price. The swimming pool provided relief after a day’s site seeing and walking. Even though this is a shared facility I think we were the only people using at the time. I would certainly recommend this apartment. I intend to stay again when I next visit Madeira Recommended for: Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
