No "sailor license" required to lease houseboats like these in the Great Lake, so it will be the customer to command the boat after approximately two hours specific training at the Amieira Marina.
Thanks to the autonomy of these boats the users can navigate the Great Lake, in the authorised zones, docking easily and then visiting the nearby villages and other interesting areas either on foot or bicycle, benefiting of all the touristic potential of the region.
Besides the bedrooms, sanitary installations and common living spaces, the houseboats have spaces for sunning, fishing and outdoor barbeques. There is no reason for monotony for the users of our houseboats.
All the vessels are equipped with localization and safety equipment: Plotter, GPS and vertical sweeping sounds.

NOT included in price:
- Diesel : between 15 and 30 EUR per day (normal usage)
- Final cleaning: EUR 150
Locally, you will have to deposit an amount equivalent tot he excess charge in case of damage (EUR 900) plus the final cleaning charge (EUR 150). These amounts will be returned at the end of your lease period provided that the houseboat and its equipment are returned in good condition, clean and within the established time schedule.
Options (previous reservation required, paid locally):

The Grande Lago (Great Lake) of Alqueva was created in 2002 and has an area of 250 km2, 83 km long with a perimeter of 1160 km. It is the largest artificial lake in Europe. From Amieira Marina, you will cruise on waters of an incredible quality, where the Nature lovers will take delight in bathing, fishing, scuba diving and taking pictures. Amieira Marina is located in the village of Amieira, 55 km from the city of Évora, near the Spanish border. Lisbon airport is 190 km, Faro airport 200 km and Sevilla (Spain) 230 km distant.
With your family or friends, you will have the choice to moor on an islet to be "Robinson Crusoe" for one night or at nautic Stops allowing an easy access to the beautiful surrounding villages and places of interest such as the Alqueva dam, amazing piece of work inaugurated in 2002 ; the village of Luz, in the past swallowed up and then identically rebuilt on the bank of the Grande Lago (don't miss the museum); Mourão, its castle and its fortifications of the 13th century; Monsaraz, fortified city with its narrow and paved streets endowed with a splendid bullring still used for corridas.
