The walled property is entered by double security gates that open into a long drive way bordered on one side by a lawn. At the end of the drive is a double garage. Entrance from the long country lane brings you to the property entrance into a conservatory with access down to the large covered barbecue house beside the very impressive private pool with roman steps. The accommodation comprises 2 living rooms with regional satellite TV and DVD player, separate dining room, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, utility room with washing machine. On the ground floor are 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin room all with bathroom (one of which has jacuzzi bath). On the first floor one finds 2 double rooms, 1 twin room, 1 single room and 2 complete bathrooms. The well-established, pretty gardens include two further lawns and a variety of shrubs and fruit trees including oranges, plums, figs and grapes. The large kidney-shaped swimming pool measures 14m x 8m and is surrounded by terracing, with a large covered BBQ and bar area and has a kitchen area with sink, cooker and fridge.

Silves One hour drive from Faro, and dominated by the impressive Moorish castle, the town of Silves, once the Arab capital, is just 14 kms from the popular coastal resort of Carvoiero. During the last two weeks of July the castle is taken over to house a regular beer festival with live music. The surrounding countryside is stubbed with citrus trees and our properties are situated in this environment with just a short drive to the town for a selection of quality bars and restaurants. A short drive will take you to Carvoeiro, a picturesque village whose sandy cove has a backdrop of sprawling cliffs. The resort is spread out but the main shops and restaurants are concentrated around the pretty, small square and beach. The fishing port of Portimão lies a 15 minute drive west of Carvoeiro. This is the place to come to book your fishing trips out to sea including deep sea shark fishing. Portimão is also famous for its shopping with hundreds of shops situated around cobbled streets and numerous cafes. The town of Silves is a 15 minute drive north from Carvoeiro and was the capital of the Algarve in Moorish times. Its points of interest include its majestic restored Moorish castle, its Gothic cathedral and the "Cruz da Portugal.
Beaches
The main Carvoeiro town beach is situated centrally in the resort, a small sweeping bay, backed by the bars, shops and restaurants. Other quieter beaches in this resort include Paraiso beach, Centianes Beach, a lovely stretch with plenty of space at low tide, Vale do Covo, a beautiful small cove accessed by steps, Carvalho beach Steps again down to this beach and through a tunnel in the rocks but very worthwhile!. You will also find numerous beaches at nearby Ferugado.
Eating Out
It’s not surprising that the fish and seafood are a staple part of the diet for people in the Algarve. With daily fishing trips bringing in huge amounts of fresh sardines, tuna, bream, cod, monkfish; plentiful supplies of clams, oysters, prawns, not to mention octopus and squid, it’s easy to understand why. There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from in the Carvoiero and Silves area, ranging from traditional Portuguese to inter-continental and also to suit all price ranges. All of the popular nearby resorts including Carvoiero, Silves, Feragudo, Portimao and Lagos have a good variety of restaurants, but off the beaten track you will find exceptional local Portuguese restaurants.
Leisure
There is plenty of fun for the children with so many sandy beaches and rocky coves within 10 to 15 minutes, Slide and Splash, Aqualand and Zoomarine all 15 to 20 minutes away, tennis at Penina, horse riding just 15 minutes, wind surfing and sailing at the beaches. Deep sea fishing from the Portimao port is an adventure! The new “shopping Algarve” is a comprehensive shopping centre situated just outside Albufeira. in July, quench your thirst at the Silves Beer Festival and listen to international musicians at the International Jazz Festival in Lagos. Fill up on fresh fish at the Seafood Festival in Olhão (Aug).
