This brand new villa is situated in Arco da Calheta, overlooking Calheta and Madalena do Mar. A 10 minute drive will take you to Ribeira Brava, and another 20 minutes sees you in the centre of Funchal. It is a 5 minute drive to the beach. This is a perfect base for exploring the coast and mountains of the area.
This semi-detached villa has stunning views of the sea and surrounding countryside and is only 300 yards from access to the Levada Nova, a 3 hour walk, including a fabulous restaurant. In the opposite direction it is only a 5 minute walk from a restaurant and the paragliding launching point.
Property consists of 2 double rooms (full wardrobes, hairdryer) with uninterrupted views from the balcony, 1 twin room (full wardrobes) also with stunning views, 3 bathrooms (one ensuite) and extra WC/basin in basement , lounge with TV (Sat with UK channels and radio), CD/DVD (with large selection of DVDs), dining room seating 8. There is an extra futon upstairs also a comfortable bed settee in the dining room. The property is equipped with wireless internet access. There is still a garage with table tennis and darts, a guest/WC and utility area with washing machine, fully equipped kitchen fitted with quality appliances including oven & hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware, basement parking and extra table games.
Outside guests find a sun terrace for sunbathing/relaxing with sun lounges and seating, swimming pool with magnificent sea view, walled quiet and private side garden with lawn/paving, BBQ, gazebo for dining al fresco, outside/garden furniture.
Baby cot available free of charge.
Cleaning and linen change once a week. Maid service can be arranged (extra charge).
Meet and greet available and welcome packs can be arranged.
A picnic rucksack containing everything required is available for your use.
There is the added bonus that the house next door belongs to the same family so larger parties can be accommodated in this delightful area.

Founded in 1572, the parish of Arco da Calheta is set between the mountains and got its name from the surrounding hills and its proximity to the parish of Calheta. After the discovery of the island this parish was one of the first to be submitted to huge agricultural explorations, giving origin to extensive lands with noble houses, chapels and cultivated areas.The busiest time of the year is the 7th and the 8th of September when the parish celebrates its annual procession and a fair to honour the patron saint São Braz.

N and A from Humberside Review Submitted: October 18, 2011 Date of Stay: October 2011 Idyllic Island Hide Away with Stunning Views This very modern semi-detached villa (House) is located in a rural area above the small village of Arco da Cahleta, on the side of a mountain offerring stunning views of the surrounding countryside and picturesque bay. A car is recommended if you intend to tour the island, although from the villa location some of the roads are quite steep so would recommend an experienced driver is needed to negotiate some of the routes. There is however a taxi service operating close to the village (Number available from Paulino's cafe in the village) which cost us around 15 Euro's from the villa to the sea front, marina and beach in Cahleta. There is a supermarket and restaurants in Cahleta, with whale and dolphin sightseeing trips at around 35 Euro's per person, and a trip into the bustling city of Funchal is good day out in contrast to the quiet and peaceful rural location of the villa. The villa was as the listing description states, very clean and modern with a lovely pool and barbaque area. The neigbours were very helpful and accommodating, as were the local's, with no intrusion making for a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday break. We would certainly consider revisiting the lovely island of Madeira, and would recommend this accommodation to anyone who is seeking an 'away from it all' holiday, with options to engage in dinning out, walking and sight seeing if preferred.
