Detached a century old house adapted for rural tourism, located on the sea front of Madalena do Mar. A pebble stone beach is just across the street, restaurant 200 m, supermarket in Calheta at 10 minutes drive from the property. It is 25 km to the city of Funchal and 35 minutes drive to the airport.

Nicely furnished and with a living area of 230 m2, the house consists of:
- Ground floor: ample social space, including dinning/living room with TV, stereo player, DVD, 1 fully equipped kitchen and a guest WC.
- First Floor: 2 double bedrooms (one of them with an adjoining room with a single bed and a drawer bed), 2 twin bedrooms, 1 kitchen with table and chairs and 2 bathrooms. At the property entrance, there is a small tower converted into a cosy living room with sea view.
The house is implanted in grounds of 1100 m2 comprising well kept gardens and an orchard with banana plantation and several varieties of fruit trees (mango, pitanga, fig, lemon, medlar, etc.). Fruits are at clients’ disposal. In the property there is also carport for 2 cars.

Changeover day is Saturday.

Sleeps 2-10 persons, self catering.

Madalena do Mar is a small village located on the southwest coast of the Island with beautiful sea and cliff views. Its name came from a legendary Polish Prince of the 15th century, Henry Allemão. He lost a battle in 1444 and was given land by João Gonçalves Zarco and established a great-populated farm where he built a chapel dedicated to the Saint Mary Madeleine.

Madalena do Mar is a characteristic fishing village with a beautiful promenade along the pebble beach. It’s location and accompanying climate has helped it to establish the biggest banana plantations on the Island.
