Newly renovated modern open space studio, close to the centre of the village of Calheta, walking distance (50 m) from its beautiful golden sandy beach, art museum complex, restaurants and gym. Activities such as water skiing, paragliding, and more can also be done here. Besides its attractive location, surrounded by rocks and almost caressing the ocean, Calheta is also popular with its own old sugar cane factory which was founded in 1901. This sugar cane factory is still operating and still produces sugar cane honey and aguardente or the sugar cane spirit. Calheta is also famous for the wide variety of fishes to be found in its coastal waters. Recently, a new visitors’ attraction was added to this enchanting place by the sea. The Art Centre of Casa das Mudas where alternating high-quality exhibitions will be on display is an ambitious architectural project designed in complete harmony with its surroundings.

Furnished to provide guests comfortable holidays, and with about 60 m2 living area, the open space apartment comprises 2 twin rooms (one in the ground floor, under a curtain, 1 twin in the above floor gallery), 1 complete bathroom, living area with TV, dining area and equipped kitchenette. Outside, there is a small garden and a terrace with sea views and table and chairs.

Calheta is fast becoming one of the most popular towns on the South coast. It has the most interesting marina which is full of privately owned boats and yachts. Many of these offer trips out for dolphin and whale spotting, trips to the Desertas Islands, deep sea fishing and lots more. Along the side of the marina are many snack bars and restaurants where the atmosphere is electric and you mingle with the locals and tourists alike. In the evenings even live entertainment can be enjoyed. Just five minutes walk away is a protected golden sandy beach which runs very gradually into the warm blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and ideal place for young children to dig on the beach and paddle or swim in the water. Many locals swim from one part of the beach to the other for fitness as well as enjoyment. There is a large well stocked supermarket which serves all the needs of the self catering client and a bank with instant access machines.
