The studio apartment for guests has a separate entrance and is furnished with antiques. The entrance consists of a small hall giving to the kitchen, that connects with the living and sleeping room through an open arch. From this room you have access to a modern bathroom with shower.
The property owner lives in the main house and is always available to provide any information or tips about the area. The swimming pool belongs to the main house and is to tbe shared with guests from the studio apartment.
The nearest town is Portimão (2 km) where one finds a large offer of shopping facilities, restaurants, small bars and typical Portuguese cafés. Concerts take place here on a regular basis, in summer under open air. In the town centre there is a daily market with fresh vegetables from the area and just fished fish and seafood.
In a radius of only a few kilometers there are 5 international golf greens.
The Atlantic coast is blessed with beautiful beaches, giving you the choice between long sandy beaches and small bays (starting at 4 km from the property), where one finds a number of water sports like scuba diving and parasailing.
Boat trips depart from the historical marina of Portimão, visiting the beautiful coast and its caverns. Guests are advised to take tours of the nearby coastal towns of Lagos or Sagres at Europe’s southwestern tip.
Inland there is an attractive mountain area, with regional roads sided by eucalyptus and almond trees that lead, between others, to the famous hot springs of Caldas de Monchique, already used by the Romans. A couple of kilometers further you reach the nice village of Monchique and the highest panoramic point of Foia. East from here there is the small market city of Silves with its Moorish castle and an archeological museum.
Faro airport is 40 km from Portimão:
A rental car is advised, you normally will find a cheaper rate renting before you get to Portugal.

The white contour of a church on a hilltop, the narrow streets of the old fishermen and tradesmen quarter, the presence of the sea and the immense beach known by the name of Praia da Rocha are some of the aspects that identify the character of this centenary city.
All that is left of medieval Portimão are a few stretches of the city walls now hidden by houses. The old town is dominated by the architecture of the late 19th and 20th centuries: houses on two storeys, with wrought iron balconies and ornate stonework around windows and doors, decorated with balustrades of stone and ceramics and walls covered with tiles.
To savour the spirit of Portimão, there is nothing better than to sit in the shade of the trees in the gardens Manuel Bívar and forget about time, to watch the fishing boats and to walk trough streets and squares that exude the ambience of an active, hard-working town which has succeeded in keeping pace with progress.
Praia da Rocha
Located by the mouth of the Arade river, Rocha Beach extends over a huge area of sand some 3 kilometres long irregularly broken up by odd rock formations that the sea has been carving out throughout tens of thousands of years.
Regularly the chosen location for Algarve tourism publicity photographs and highly publicised in international campaigns, this is now one of the most popular resorts in southern Portugal. This is further encouraged by the range of nightlife that even boasts its own Casino.
Bathed by a calm and warm sea that provides for risk-free swimming, Rocha Beach is also equipped with the facilities for a number of different sports including basketball, football, volleyball and aerobics.

Praia do Alvor
With its sands stretching on over the horizon, Alvor is a dream beach surrounded by high quality hotels and with every kind of support infrastructure including equipment for sailing, water skiing or windsurfing.
The origins of the picturesque Alvor fishing village date back to the times of the Moors when it was an important port. Although there is no built heritage from those times, the town’s historic centre is well worth a visit if only for the opportunity to admire the striking beauty of the Manueline style Matrix Church entranceway.
Nature lovers should be sure to ensure their stay includes a visit to the Alvor Estuary with its series of lagoons considered of international ecological importance given their role as a stopover point for migratory birds on their north-south journeys.
