Casa da Eira is a country house, tastefully refurbished in order to provide a comfortable pleasant stay. It is 50 meters from the centre of the small village of Carvoeiro, in the valley of the Neiva River and between the ocean and the mountain. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the natural beauty and quietness of the valley, which once belonged to a Benedictine domain on the road to Santiago. The house is surrounded by gardens and by a pine tree forest (20.000 m2) and is inserted inside a farming estate producing vegetables (zucchinis, green beans, tomatoes, peppers) and offering its visitors a number of activities (picking vegetables, walks, rental bicycles, fitness circuit, ecological swimming pool). The three main towns of Alto Minho are less than 15 km distant: Viana do Castelo, Barcelos and Ponte de Lima. The beach of Areosa is 15 km and the beach of Cabedelo 16 km away, less than 15 minutes drive.

Recently renovated, equipped with central heating and with air conditioning, the house comprises 2 double rooms, 1 single room, as well as a sofa bed (in the lounge) and an extra bed for a child up to 3 years old. There are 2 complete bathrooms, a large lounge with dining area, living room with fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside there is a magnificent private terrace with garden furniture and barbecue, surrounded by a beautiful garden of 300 m2. Visitors are welcome to visit all the farm areas (they are welcome to participate in the farming works, if they wish) , to share the large swimming pool (12 x 9 m, with child safety fence) with the main house, and to use the fitness circuit across the pine forest. Furthermore, guests are welcome to use the new minigolf circuit that delights children and grown-up alike. Parking area available.

Short distance from the village of Carvoeiro guests will find golf greens and tennis courts, riding centres, karting circuit and great beaches for windsurf, angling, diving and every water sport. The river Neiva, one of few not polluted rivers of Europe, offers visitors some river beaches very much appreciated by the children.
The ocean beaches of Castelo de Neiva, Amorosa or Cabedelo are less than 15 minutes drive, allowing you to split your day: mornings at the beach and the afternoons in the countryside so that children could use their holiday to the best way .
Both in the village of Carvoeiro and in the cities of Viana do Castelo, Barcelos and Ponte de Lima there are countless restaurants where visitors can taste the best Portuguese cuisine: cod, fish, seafood, grilled sardines, rojões (pork meat) Minho art, Portuguese stew, etc.
On Thursdays it is almost compulsory the visit to the street market of Barcelos, one of the most ancient of Portugal and where one finds the famous pottery objects. Viana do Castelo and its museums display the typical dress of Viana, the gold jewelry works and the traditional pottery, as well as churches and small Renaissance style palaces. Upon arrival visitors will find in the house a large amount of information concerning the majour points of interest in the region, as well as the monthly program of cultural activities of Viana do Castelo.
