It is literally 10 meters to the local beach (pebble stone), restaurants, cafés and shopping facilities are a few walking meters away. The small fishing village of Paúl do Mar belongs to the municipality of Calheta, where a good part of the laurel woods, the most ancient forest in Europe is located. It is protected by UNESCO's world heritage and you will find many famous levada paths for walks to enjoy the amazing landscapes of the island. In Calheta there is an artificial yellow sand beach.

Located in the first floor of a residential building, with a balcony that provides an 180˚ panoramic sea view, the independent apartment is accessed by an external stair. Furnished in an easy but comfortable style, it comprises a living room with settees and cable TV, dining room with direct access to the balcony, 1 double room, 1 twin room, 1 shower room and equipped kitchen.

Paúl do Mar is one of the most important fishing centres of the archipelago. The ocean provides this parish with an incredibly rich variety of fish, to such an extent that it has become a reference in the world of gastronomy.

Until the late 1960s you could only access this fishing village by boat and for the next thirty years the only way to go down there was very slowly and carefully on a dangerous road. Fortunately the new road did not do any damage to the romantic aspect of the village and everywhere you go you can be sure to find peace, authenticity and tranquillity.

Going out of Paúl do Mar through one of its three tunnels, you leave behind a paradise that you will never forget.

For the budget traveller is the perfect 'hideaway' location for the surfing, body boarding, writing, fishing, walking, golfing, and photography or sea side enthusiast. It is located in a very quiet portion of Paúl do Mar. In the summer months windsurfing, surfing, swimming and snorkelling are perfectly safe in the ocean, right outside the front door. In the winter months the sea is more suitable for surfing and body boarding. Snorkeling and diving is still available but a wet suit would be recommended. The sun always shines in Paúl do Mar and so sunbathing is always an option!
